OUR STORY

CBC’s origins date back to 1942, when Credit Bureau Collections was a local credit reporting and collection agency. CBC is the result of a consolidation of five collection agencies from Bristol, Kingsport, and Johnson City in upper east Tennessee.

Since 2003, CBC has been led by partners Marc Carter and Joey Nichols. CBC has built a reputation for integrity, with 100% client satisfaction rates and unrivaled revenue management customization technology for improved contact rates that deliver better returns.

President

With 44 years in accounts receivable management and an extensive history of HFMA leadership roles, Marc is uniquely positioned to deliver high performance solutions to health care systems, utilizing advanced technology and human capital.

Joey Nichols

COO

Chief Operations Officer Joey Nichols works closely with AI-software designers at RMEx on the operations and technology side to develop new products and processes. Joey is an active member of ACHE, HFMA, and MGMA.

Penny Bays

General Manager

Part of CBC’s success for more than 20 years, Penny is responsible for day-to-day operations, where she is known for her knowledge and guidance on company procedures and performance.

Wanda Chapman

Collections Manager

With CBC since 2000, Wanda oversees the collectors and collection efforts and is the daily point of contact for operational matters related to all clients’ contracts.

Bethany Kinkel

Director of Business Development

Bethany joined the CBC team in April of 2023. She brings extensive knowledge and experience from owning and operating an agency for over 20 years and is responsible for growing the brand and footprint of CBC. Her focus is client relations and agency performance with customized client reporting and transparent communications. She is active in HFMA.
